Excerpts from Wilbur and Mary Thatcher's Collection of Memories
I am fortunate that my Mom and Dad left behind memories of their early lives in the form of diaries, letters, scrapbooks, and photos, through WWII and to about 1948. I hope you find it interesting. Sadly, I knew very little about their younger days while they were living.

The following image is a newspaper article listing the 51 young men from Wayne County Iowa who gave their lives for our country over the course of the WWII. As I read each and every name and where they died I could not help but find it an emotional experience.
