Blackwood Brothers Handbill - Circa Early 1940s
The handbill below from the Promise City Christ Church is most likely from the early 1940’s. The Blackwood Brothers was a gospel singing group that formed in 1934. They had an affiliation with Stamps-Baxter to sell songbooks which was not uncommon. They were also appearing on Radio Station KMA at the time. Notice the prices for admission. The hand bill was in a scrap book of Mom and Dad’s.
